About Dr Mark Craig
After training in medicine in Edinburgh, Dr Craig undertook some overseas study experience in Southern India and Malawi, moving on to then train in surgery in the UK and write several peer reviewed published journals, before deciding General Practice would be the best choice to fulfil himself in medicine.
During his time as a GP, he became incredible frustrated by the number of diseases caused by lifestyle factors, which were being treated by other practitioners with only drugs and no lifestyle changes. Thereby providing only a band-aid solution, with little hope for improvement or reversal of conditions.
Through his own research, he encountered a huge amount of evidence linking diet and health – with strong support for a plant-based wholefoods diet as the best way of eating to optimise long term health and help treat common chronic ailments. He has recently set up a lifestyle consulting clinic True South Medical in order to help people achieve this, and is keen to see anyone who would like to have further help in this area.
